Strong Schools. Strong Community. Strong Future.

Dr. Jason Morrison is running for school board to restore a focus on academic excellence, support our dedicated teachers, and provide transparency in the stewardship of taxpayer dollars for every family.

Meet Jason

Dr. Jason Morrison is a Collierville parent, neighbor, and leader in healthcare and research. He and his wife, Michelle, have two children in the Collierville Schools district—Maddox (15) and Marlowe (10). As Vice President of Clinical Research Informatics at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, he works every day at the intersection of data, teamwork, and care for children and families.

Dr. Morrison is running for School Board to bring that same steady, service-driven leadership to our classrooms and community.

Why I’m Running for School Board

Like many parents in Collierville, Michelle and I care deeply about the schools our kids attend. We’ve seen dedicated teachers, caring staff, and students who are capable of incredible things. We’ve also seen the pressures that families and educators are facing—from academic expectations to mental health needs to rapid growth in our community.

I’m running for School Board because I believe we need steady, thoughtful leadership that keeps students at the center, supports our teachers, and respects the taxpayers who fund our schools. I want our children—and every child in Collierville—to learn in safe, challenging, welcoming schools that prepare them well for whatever comes next.

This campaign isn’t about national politics or headlines. It’s about our kids, our community, and the kind of schools we want to hand to the next generation.

A Clear Plan for Our Schools

Families in our community want the same things: safe schools, strong academics, and leaders who listen. Dr. Jason Morrison is running for School Board to bring steady, solutions-oriented leadership that puts students first, supports teachers, and respects taxpayers.

This platform is built on a simple idea: when schools, families, and the community work together, every child has the chance to succeed.

Academic Excellence

Raising the Bar for Every Student

Every child in our district deserves a high-quality education that prepares them for college, career, and life. Dr. Morrison believes strong schools start with clear expectations, excellent teaching, and a focus on the fundamentals.

  • Raise academic standards and expectations across all grade levels
  • Focus on core subjects: reading, writing, math, science, and civics
  • Strengthen early literacy so every child reads on grade level by 3rd grade
  • Support STEM, career, and technical education pathways
  • Use data to identify gaps and get students the help they need—without turning classrooms into test factories

Staff Support

Backing the Teachers and Staff Who Shape Our Kids’ Futures

Great schools are built by great people. Dr. Morrison believes the district must do more to attract, support, and retain quality teachers and support staff, while cutting red tape that keeps them from focusing on students.

  • Advocate for competitive, sustainable compensation and benefits
  • Reduce unnecessary paperwork and administrative burdens
  • Ensure classrooms have the materials and technology teachers need
  • Provide strong mentoring and professional development
  • Create a culture where staff feel respected, supported, and heard

Community Engagement

Working Together With Families and the Community

Schools work best when families, teachers, and the community feel heard and respected. Dr. Morrison will lead with transparency, open communication, and a genuine desire to bring people together—not divide them.

  • Hold regular listening sessions with parents, teachers, and staff
  • Make board decisions and district information easy to access and understand
  • Encourage strong parent involvement in every school
  • Build partnerships with local businesses, churches, and community groups
  • Model respectful, civil leadership even when people disagree

Fiscal Responsibility

Respecting Taxpayers, Prioritizing Classrooms

Taxpayer dollars are a trust. Dr. Morrison will approach every budget decision with a simple question: ‘Does this help students learn?’ He will push for transparency, accountability, and long-term planning that keeps our district on solid ground.

  • Demand clear, understandable budgets and regular financial reporting
  • Prioritize funding for classrooms, teachers, and student services
  • Scrutinize administrative and non-essential spending
  • Plan for the long term so we avoid waste and surprise shortfalls
  • Make sure every dollar spent can be explained to the families who fund our schools

Leadership You Can Count On

Dr. Morrison’s platform is about common-sense solutions, steady leadership, and keeping our focus where it belongs—on students.

Real Change Starts With Neighbors Like You

Campaigns are won by conversations at kitchen tables, sidelines, and school events—not by slogans alone. When neighbors step up to help, we can build the kind of school district our kids deserve.

Whether you have a lot of time or just a little, there’s a place for you on the Morrison for School Board team.
